There are now over 900,000 homes in Hungary receiving internet services via cable.
According to data published by the regulator NMHH, the figure stood at 900,214, of which around a third (300,980) were via DOCSIS 3.0, as of this April.
This compared to 767,046 xDSL and 333,676 FTTx subscriptions, with the total number if fixed access broadband subscriptions being 2,207,000.
Magyar Telekom was the leading provider of fixed-line high-speed internet access with a market share of 35.2%, followed by UPC with 21.9% and Digi with 13.8%.
Invitel was next with 9.6%, with the remaining smaller operators claiming a combined total of 11.5%.
