NBCUniversal International Television had announced the first-ever launch of flagship pay-TV brand, Universal Channel, in Germany. Sky Deutschland and Deutsche Telecom to premiere the channel beginning September 5.
This announcement comes shortly after Universal Networks International unveiled a fresh character-focused positioning for the channel, complemented by a new look, logo and “100% Characters” tagline. The channel will be available from Thursday, September 5 on Sky Deutschland in HD and on Deutsche Telecom, in both HD and SD.
The announcement was made by Belinda Menendez, President, International Television Distribution and Universal Networks International.
“The German launch of Universal Channel – our flagship channel brand – is an exciting milestone for Universal Networks International as we focus on the strategic growth of our channels’ portfolio in key markets around the world,” said Menendez.
