The leading Ukrainian mobile company Kyivstar has again stressed its desire to launch an online digital TV service.
However, quoted by ProIT, its marketing director Vitaly Vorozhbit said that despite having the largest number of subscribers it was paradoxical it still cannot obtain a licence to operate one from the National Council on Radio and TV.
Q1 results just published by Kyivstar show the main driver in its fixed-line business, the revenues for which were 13% higher than a year earlier, was its domestic internet service.
Its subscriber base grew by 44% year-on-year to 663,000 and could be accessed by 1.5 million people at the end of the quarter.
