Lagardère CEO Arnaud Lagardère has said the company is prepared to, if necessary, buy Canal+ France’s remaining 80% stake in Vivendi before holding an IPO “on favourable terms”.
Speaking to Le Monde on the eve of Lagardère’s General Assembly tomorrow (May 3), he added that he would like to see Vivendi to return €1.6 billion to Canal+ France in cash.
Lagardère continued: “Canal+ France deserves ambitious growth. This is the purpose of the procedure that we have committed strictly in compliance with the interests of Canal+ France.”
Separately, Alice Holzman has joined Canal+ Group as general manager in charge of Distribution France. She succeeds Maxime Saada and will report to Rodolphe Belmer, CEO of Canal+ Group.
