The fourth stage of Poland’s transition to digital broadcasting will take place on April 22 and 23.
According to the Office of Electronic Communications (UKE), it will see analogue transmitters switched off in Czestochowa, Gorlice, Klodzko, Opole, Rabka, Szczawnica, Tarnow, Wroclaw and Zakopane.
At the same time, digital transmitters distributing programmes carried by the third DTT multiplex (MUX-3) will be activated in the nine locations.
MUX-3 is allocated solely to the public broadcaster’s channels, while the first multiplex (MUX-1) has a mix of channels and second (MUX-2) commercial services.
The first three stages of Poland’s transition process were completed in November 2012 and last month. ASO is due to take place this July.
