Telenor Sweden has adopted the Ericsson Multiscreen TV solution, replacing the previous provider. It will offer a variety of interactive TV experiences across a ranged of mobile and fixed devices.
Ericsson will help Telenor to expand its current TV offering with new enhanced TV services such as catch-up TV on multiple screens and devices, companion screen interaction with content for advanced search and social activity.
“Sweden is a highly advanced TV market, with a proliferation of OTT providers using Sweden as a pilot market for new TV services. Meeting our customers’ expectations for TV services on any devices, anywhere through a solution that offers consistent, high quality TV experiences is imperative,” said Mats Lundquist, director broadband & TV Telenor Sweden. “Ericsson’s considerable experience and innovative TV solutions will help us ensure that Telenor’s customers get the TV experience they desire.”
“Telenor is committed to meeting consumer demand for rich TV services and we are pleased to provide the solutions that help it achieve this. Our vision for the future of television is based on the knowledge and expertise we have gained from decades of pioneering digital TV technology and on our unique insight into what consumers want from their media experiences,” said Ove Anebygd, vice president and head of TV, Ericsson.
Sweden as with the rest of the Nordics remains highly competitive in the field of broadband and multiscreen delivery. As such Telenor Sweden could not risk being left behind and was faced with no choice but to upgrade its infrastructure.
