Smart TV ecosystem provider Inview has signed an agreement with Altech Multimedia to develop low cost broadcast and connected TV solutions for Africa and the Middle East.
Altech will port the Inview Liberator platform onto its latest set-top boxes that range from entry-level devices through to connected hybrid DVRs.
Keith Wiggins, commerical director of Inview Solutions commented: “Inview’s Liberator platform brings together all the key elements required for the delivery of a true hybrid broadcast-connected experience. The user interface delivers content seamlessly and the platform is supported by ongoing service, development and back office integration to make it suitable for integration with operator’s existing infrastructure.”
Peter Balchin of Altech Multimedia added: “By incorporating Inview’s Liberator platform into our product offering we can offer operators a cost effective, reliable connected platform that can be deployed at all subscription levels, creating one unified brand experience.”
Inview says that Liberator’s light footprint means that it can be ported to work on even the most basic of set-top boxes. The Smart EPG is now on its third generation and can be fully integrated into back office systems.
