Czech music channel TV Ócko has signed an extension of its contract with SES for another three years. The TV station based in Prague broadcasts FTA via the Astra satellite from 23.5 degrees East.
TV Ócko started broadcasting in 2004. Astra’s 23.5 degrees East position is important for the Czech and Slovak markets, where it reaches currently over 2.5 million homes, up from 50,000 in 2006.
“We run a long-term cooperation with TV Ócko – it was the first Czech TV channel to broadcast from our satellites,” said Martin Ornass-Kubacki, VP and chief regional officer for the CEE region at SES. „We believe in our contribution to the channel’s success and are glad that our partnership continues.“
“TV Ócko always follows the latest trends, also in terms of technology. In this respect the best partner is SES,“ added Štepán Wolde, CEO of TV Ócko. “Satellite broadcast is the pillar of our distribution strategy. SES offers the highest quality, reliability and range of service. We are looking forward to further years of cooperation.”
