Netia, the largest of Poland’s alternative telcos, is seeing continued growth from its IPTV product.
Telewizja Osobista (Personal Television) was introduced in 2011 and includes a hybrid set-top box, Netia Player, which provides access to Poland’s DTT channels and paid content over IPTV.
Netia has negotiated access to on demand libraries including Ipla, Kinoplex, HBO Go and TVN Player.
Adaptive IP protocol and the use of Microsoft Smooth Streaming technology has reduced the amount of required bandwidth.
The number of TV subscribers grew to 79,285 as at December 31, 2012 up by 56% from 50,712 the previous year and from 72,805 as at September 30, 2012.
TV ARPU was stable at PLN 42 (€10.10).
