Eutelsat has grown revenues by 5.2% to reach a tidy €633.6 million in the first half.
The figures include revenues from the recently acquired Eutelsat 172A satellite, which the company said had been smoothly integrated into the fleet alongside recent launches Eutelsat 21B and Eutelsat 70B.
“These three advances mark another milestone in the Group’s expansion programme that will lead to an increase of in-orbit resources by more than 30% in the three-year period from June 2012 to June 2015,” said Michel de Rosen, CEO of Eutelsat Communications.
EBITDA was up 4.9% to €501.9 million; on an industry-leading EBITDA margin of 79.2%.
Video applications recorded revenue growth of 6.8% to €430.7 million, buoyed by growth in the Middle East and Africa, where the number of TV channels grew by 25% year-on-year to reach 618.
The expansion capacity on Eutelsat 16A, which entered into service on November 9, 2011, continues to ramp up despite some competitive
pressure in the Balkans.
