Liberty Global gained a record 465,100 RGUs in Q4 2012 and 1,594,000 in 2012 as a whole, according to preliminary unaudited consolidated results published by the company.
However, the growth was seen in internet and telephony services, with video subs actually falling by 286,500 in the year.
Liberty Global’s revenues in 2012 amounted to $10.31 billion (€7.62 billion), of which $2.73 billion were in Q4, while operating income increased by 9% to $1.98 billion in 2012 and 23% to $501 million in Q4.
Commenting on the proposed acquisition of Virgin Media, the company says that both it and Virgin Media will file a joint proxy statement/prospectus with the SEC, and the new Liberty Global holding company will file a registration statement on Form S-4 with the SEC.
It also says that it expects to publish its final consolidated results for 2012 on February 13 after market close.
