The Czech broadcasters Petka (‘Five’) and Metropol TV have been split into two different companies.
According to Digizone, the former now comes under a new business named TV 5 Plus, while the latter remains under Metropol TV, which holds the licences for both stations.
As TV 5 Plus’s sole shareholder is Metropol Production, which is owned by Metropol TV, both effectively remain under the same ownership.
The move is likely to make the sale of Petka, which is a national commercial broadcaster, and the Prague-based regional station Metropol TV, easier.
