ALi Corporation integrates CryptoFirewall security

Cryptography Research, a division of Rambus Inc, and ALi Corporation, a provider of set-top box (STB) system-on-chip (SoC) solutions, have announced that ALi has completed integration of the CRI CryptoFirewall security technology into its multimedia STB SOC products.

The CryptoFirewall core will be available in the ALi DVB-S2, DVB-C, DVB-T2, ISDB-T, and IP STB chipsets beginning in 2013.

ALi’s new generation of SOCs address the full range of cable, satellite, terrestrial, and hybrid solutions from feature to smart STBs. The CryptoFirewall security core integrated into ALi STB chipsets will provide the pay TV ecosystem with a new way to implement robust hardware security design by a leader in smart card security.

The CryptoFirewall core is a self-contained ASIC security core that provides a secure hardware foundation for signal security applications. The core is designed to protect cryptographic keys and computations within a chip, even if surrounding components are compromised.
