Poland tests DVB-T2

The Polish public broadcaster TVP will start DVB-T2 trials today, (Friday, December 21).

They are being undertaken in conjunction with Samsung and the national transmission company Emitel and initially involve a single transmitter covering Warsaw and environs.

However, a second one will be added within a matter of weeks.

TVP has played a key role in Poland’s transition to digital broadcasting, which is due to be completed in July next year, and is also the first broadcaster in the country to trial the DVB-T2 standard.
