Russia’s MTS ended the third quarter with 2.9 million subscribers to its pay-TV services, or 200,000 more than a year earlier.
The company, which is backed by Sistema, also had 2.2 million broadband internet subscribers, a 10% increase year-on-year, while the number of households it passed in the fixed broadband segment rose by 13.5% to 11.8 million.
At the same time, Sistema Mass Media’s Stream TV subscriber base increased by 22% year-on-year to 7.2 million, while share of revenue from advertising on Stream TV as a percentage of total revenue grew by 5.4 percentage points year-on-year and amounted to 15.9%.
Sistema Mass Media’s revenues in Q3 amounted to $13 million (€10.16 million), or 56.3% less than a year earlier.
Its OIBDA fell by 98.8% to $0.1 million over the same period but a loss of $1.9 million was transformed into a net income of $10.2 million.
