The Russian cable operator ER Telecom is now the second leading provider of broadband internet services in the country.
Quoting data produced by AC&M Consulting, the company says that as of the end of Q3 it had 2,266,000 subscribers, placing it ahead of Vimpelcom and only behind Rostelecom, the market leader.
It adds that three months earlier it was in third place, with 2,130,000 broadband subscribers.
ER Telecom gained 267,000 new internet, pay-TV and telephony customers in the third quarter alone as it pursued its objective of securing a 20% revenue share of the internet and pay-TV sectors by the end of 2014.
ER Telecom is now also the eighth leading telco company in Russia in terms of income.
