Rostelecom now has over 9 million subscribers to its broadband services and claims a 40% share of the Russian broadband market.
Furthermore, it has four times as many broadband subscribers as its nearest competitor.
In addition, its FTTH and FTTP broadband subscriber total is doubling on an annual basis.
According to Pavel Zaytsev, Rostelecom’s senior VP, modernising last-mile infrastructure now allows the company to offer a number of advanced services, including interactive TV.
He added that it would introduce additional packages and a variety of new services to its content offer, including new TV channels, video and music content, built-in communications and e-commerce programmes in 2013.
