Google has said that starting November 13, Google Play music and movies will now be available on Google TV in the UK, Germany and France.
In the offical Google blog, the company also apologised for an earlier blog entry saying that the service would launch in more countries in Europe, such as Spain and Italy as well is in Canada and Australia.
“We’re sorry for an earlier post that said we’re launching in more countries on 11/13, but stay tuned as we’re bringing Google Play to more countries all the time.”
It is expected that Google will add additional countries to its list by end of December. However, securing licences for television shows and movies has been an ongoing headache for the company.
Google Play will be available on all Google TV sets on the newly opened markets. However, there are not that many Google TV enabled devise around. In the UK there is the Sony NSZ-GS7 Internet Media Player, in France and Germany Sony launched the product last September. A Google TV equipped Blu-ray player from Sony will come to these markets early next year.
