Digital fever hits Lithuania

The Lithuanian incumbent telco TEO LT is witnessing huge interest in its TV services ahead of the country’s switch to digital broadcasting, which will take place in less than a week.

According to the company, which is backed by TeliaSonera, the registered number of customers interested in purchasing the services in the last two weeks was 43% higher than over the same period in September.

TEO LT operates DTT and IPTV services under the brand name Gala and as of the third quarter they had a combined total of 162,000 subscribers.

With ASO, this figure is likely to rise significantly in the fourth quarter.
