MTG’s Viasat Broadcasting is to launch three new HD pay-TV movie channels in Russia, Ukraine and other CIS countries in October.
The channels – TV1000 PremiumHD, TV1000 Megahit HD and TV1000 Comedy HD – will primarily feature content from four Hollywood studios, including Twentieth Century Fox Distribution, Sony Pictures Television and Warner Bros, with whom MTG has signed multi-year exclusive pay-TV and online movie licensing agreements for the territories.
The new channels will be made available on cable, DTH, IPTV and join MTG’s existing pay-TV offering in the territories.
The additional premium content from the Hollywood studios will also be made available through MTG’s Viaplay online pay-TV service in Russia.
