Pay-DTT grows in Hungary

Hungary is now firmly established as one of the leading markets for pay-DTT services in Central and Eastern Europe.

According to data published by the regulator NMHH, the MinDig TV Extra services operated by the national transmission company Antenna Hungária had 67,803 subscribers as of the end of July and accounted for 6.8% of the country’s wireless broadcasting market.

The latter was still dominated by Digi (38.4%), followed by T-Home (28.9%) and UPC Direct (23.0%).

The total number of wireless subscriptions (DTH and MMDS) in Hungary stood at 924,859 and there were also 1,880,144 cable and IPTV subscribers.
