Small uplift for Canal+ Group

Canal+ Group reported a slight rise in first half revenues as the French pay-TV platform weathered a VAT increase equivalent to €20 million.

The 3% revenue rise took revenues to €2,064 million as both subscription and advertising witnessed increases.

The Canal+ France portfolio recorded a net growth of almost 350,000 subscriptions compared to the end of June 2011, with almost 140,000 subs coming from Africa.

Canal+ Group’s EBITA was €483 million compared to €495 million for first half 2011.
