The soon-to-be national Czech station TV Metropol is about to see an important change of ownership.
According to E15, the billionaire Lubos Mekota, currently its largest shareholder, will shortly increase his stake from 66% to 98%, leaving Marek Vitek and Jiri Nemecek as the only other owners.
Metropol TV began as a local station and currently broadcasts to viewers in Prague and Central Bohemia via the country’s third DTT multiplex, which is operated by the Czech Digital Group (CDG).
It will become a national station this October.
