Nordic Netflix confirmed for late 2012

Netflix has opened up a new Nordics Blog, at the same time confirming plans to launch its steaming service in Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland before the end of the 2012.

No details have been revealed on pricing, content and supported devices, which the company says will be announced closer to launch.

Netflix made its European debut in the UK & Ireland in January. It offers a one-month trial before charging £5.99 (€7.62) per month.

Internationally it is available on the PC, Wii, Xbox, PC, Mac and tablet devices.

Lilyhammer, the Norwegian-American series about a New York gangster trying to start a new life in the Norwegian town was jointly commissioned by Netflix and the Norwegian public broadcaster NRK.

Netflix premiered the show in the United States, though there is no detail as to whether reruns will later be available for Norwegian viewers.
