DVB to show mature T2-Lite

IBC 2012 PREVIEW – AMSTERDAM: Stand No. 1.D81. A new demonstration of the DVB-T2 transmission system will show HD and mobile signals on a T2 television and a Sony T2-Lite demodulator evaluation board.

In a statement revealing its plans for IBC, the Geneva-based standards organization said the T2-Lite demo has become noticeably smaller since IBC 2011, showing the increased maturity of the technology.

A service compatible DVB-3DTV Phase 2A concept demo will combine full HD 2D and 3D signals in a spectrum efficient manner. This combined DVB-S2 signal is simultaneously received as 2D on an iDTV and as 3D on a Pace prototype set-top box.

All of the demos featured on the DVB stand will use a new combined DVB-T2/C2/S2 demodulator chip from Sony. T2, C2 and S2 modulators from Newtec, Televes and Teamcast will also be seen.
