Eutelsat ups revenues, adds HD services

Eutelsat’s video business performed particularly well in the year ending June 30, its revenues of €832.2 million being 5.8% up on the same period in 2011.

This, the company points out, was in large part thanks to the 7 degrees West and 16 degrees East orbital positions, which were reinforced by Eutelsat 7 West A and Eutelsat 16A respectively in late 2011.

The 13 degrees East, 36 degrees East and 7 degrees East neighbourhood also put in strong performances.

The number of channels distributed by Eutelsat stood at 4,261 at the end of June, up 10% on a year earlier, while the number of HD channels within that total grew by an even more impressive 57% over the period to 346.

Eutelsat’s full revenues rose by 4.6% to €1,222.2 million, while EBITDA was €957.2 million and the group share of net income €326.1 million.
