ZON keeps triple play on track

ZON’s triple play services received a much-needed fillip in the second quarter, when despite flat revenues of 0.3% to €191 million, the pace of the year-on-year performance quickened on previous quarters.

Despite the economic crisis still surrounding Portugal. ZON added a net 6,300 new cable customers, though the figure was offset by a similar fall in DTH satellite homes.

At the top end of the market the high-end IRIS triple play option added a further 42,500 subscribers.

Triple Play customers increased 7.7% year-on-year in Q2 to 730,900 with net adds of 15,200. Penetration of triple play services stood at 60.4% by the end of Q2 12.

The Pay TV subscriber base remained stable at 1,586,000 subscribers.
