The Romanian DTH platform Focus Sat had a turnover of €11.5 million in 2011, or 24% less than a year earlier.
Quoting figures produced by the country’s Ministry of Finance, ZF adds that the platform’s losses in 2011 amounted to €5.4 million.
UPC Romania, on the other hand, had a turnover of €103.4 million last year.
Focus Sat is part of Luxembourg-based UPC DTH and has sister services in Hungary (UPC Direct) and the Czech Republic and Slovakia (freeSAT).
It had 283,800 subscribers as of the end of the first quarter in a DTH market in which RCS&RDS (Digi) and Romtelecom (Dolce) are the leading players.
