The Lithuanian incumbent telco TEO LT ended the second quarter with 156,400 subscribers to its IPTV and DTT services, or 9.7% more than in the same period last year.
Its broadband internet subscriber total meanwhile rose by 5.3% to 377,000 and the number of telephony lines stood at 625,700.
The TV services, which use the Gala brand name, accounted for 6.1% of the company’s total revenue of LTL380.7 million (€110.2 million) in the first six months of this year, with the latter figure being 3% up of the first six months of 2011.
EBITDA margin was 40.5% (40.8%) and net profit LTL78.3 million (LTL76.6 million).
Significantly, the number of internet users connected to the company’s fibre-optic network increased by over a quarter in the year to June 30 and stood at over 150,000.
The network’s services were available to 61% of Lithuania’s population as of the middle of this year.
Data produced by the Lithuania’s Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) meanwhile shows that the telco accounted for 44.9% of digital TV revenues as of the end of March this year.
TEO LT allocated LTL52 million for investments in the first six months of this year, with the majority (LTL41 million) going towards its next generation fibre-optic networks.
