Rostelecom gains pay-TV subs

The Russian national telco Rostelecom ended the first quarter with 6 million pay-TV subscribers, or 8% more than in the same period last year.

Of these, 800,000, or twice as many as a year earlier, received IPTV services, with the figure rising still further to over one million as of this month.

Rostelecom’s broadband internet subscriber total in Q1 stood at 8.4 million, or 13% more than a year earlier.

Its revenues and OIBDA in the first quarter were R84.4 billion – €2.06 billion (+17%) and R44.8 billion respectively, while net income was 38% up at R14.6 billion.
