More DVB-T2 tests for Czech Republic

The Czech national transmission company has been granted permission by the Czech Telecom Office (CTU) to undertake further DVB-T2 trials.

According to Parabola, experimental broadcasts will be made in the standard for a year from the Zizkov transmitter in Prague and up to the end of December from the Krkavec transmitter in Plzen.

Broadcasts of Czech TV (CT), Prima and Barrandov TV will be undertaken in HD and TV Ocko in SD.

Significantly, the Olympic Games will be transmitted in HD on two of CT’s four channels (CT2 and CT4) not only in DVB-T2 but also on the third multiplex, which is operated by the Czech Digital Group.
