Curran named Chellomedia President

Liberty has announced the appointment of Niall Curran as the president of content division Chellomedia. Curran replaces Shane O’Neill who died in February, having resigned the previous December.

A key figure in the growth of Chellomedia, Curran has been the company’s chief operating officer since 2003.

Chellomedia houses 56 channels (37 100% owned and 19 joint ventures), which are produced and distributed through a series of operating companies and business units.

The channels collectively have an international footprint of 357 million TV households and delivered US$ 500m revenue in 2011.

There are also joint ventures with media companies including A+E, CBS and MGM and leading platform businesses Polsat and Zon Multimedia.

Chellomedia also provides a full range of TV services through its B2B businesses – At Media and Chello DMC (formerly the Digital Media Centre) – to a variety of leading international channels.

Between 1995 and 2000 Curran was with the Walt Disney Company leaving from the position of Executive Vice President Operations for Walt Disney Europe.
