DTT takes off in Ukraine

There were already over 250,000 homes in Ukraine receiving DTT services at the end of May, according to Viktor Galich, the CEO of the multiplex operator Zeonbud.

Quoted by Mediasat and biz.liga.net, he added that the reason for the high take-up was the ease of connecting receivers, which automatically gave access to 24 national TV channels.

That figure should rise to 28 by this autumn, when viewers will also be able to watch four regional channels.

Ukrainians are expected to buy up to one million DTT receivers this year.
