Poland’s leading DTH platform Cyfrowy Polsat has officially launched its DVB-T mobile TV service.
Known as TV Mobilna, it consists of eight TV channels and 12 radio stations, all of which are encrypted, and costs PLN19.90 (€4.5) a month to subscribe to.
TV Mobilna can be received by decoders costing a nominal PLN1 that can also be used to watch the FTA DTT channels currently available on Poland’s four DTT multiplexes.
The encrypted channels fall into four categories, namely sport (Polsat Sport and Polsat Sport Extra) movies (Polsat Film, Kino Polska, TVP Seriale and Comedy Central), information (Polsat News) and kids (Nickelodeon).
TV Mobilna can be watched on smartphones, tablets and laptops, as well as on TV sets.
Commenting on the service, Dominik Libicki, Cyfrowy Polsat’s chairman of the board, said that it was aimed principally at the 12.5 million owners of mobile devices, 9 million homes with more than one TV set and 3.5 million homes without pay-TV in Poland.
