The long-awaited Czech national DTT channel TV Pohoda will finally make its debut on June 25.
Quoted by E15, Radim Parizek, who is behind the channel, said that it would be initially on air for at least 16 hours daily and will include its own news.
It will be operated by the recently established Top Media, in which Vladimir Zelezny, the joint founder and a former director of TV Nova, has a stake of around 33%.
Parizek first secured a licence for TV Pohoda back in 2006 but it was, along with five others, subsequently withdrawn following protests from established broadcasters, though principally TV Nova.
These licences were subsequently re-awarded, albeit in another form, and the one that TV Pohoda currently has is for 12 years.
TV Pohoda’s target audience will be principally young families with children.
