Sky and RTR-GmbH push for digital cable

HD and 3D content are the main drivers for a new digitalsation campaign from Austrian regulator RTR-GmbH in cooperation with Sky Österreich (Austria) and selected cable operators including Kabelplus und Salzburg AG citynet.

Cable customers who still only have an analogue subscription will receive a free digital cable tuner on loan from Sky with a subsidy from the regulator, the Rundfunk- und Telekom Regulierungs-GmbH (RTR-GmbH). Sky is offering a special introductory price for new customers which emphasises HD and 3D content.

All Austrian customers, who have not yet benefitted from the RTR-GmbH digital switch-over subsidy plan are entitled to this offer. They also need to be a registered TV licence payer.
