An increase in the number of subscribers in Denmark has helped Boxer reach 1.2 million homes.
Boxer, owned by the Swedish Teracom Group, also has pay-DTT operations in Sweden and Finland.
Growth in Denmark has been assisted by the move of popular commercial channel TV2 to basic pay. It means Boxer’s Danish operations closed the year with 337,000 subscribers, an increase of 71,000 on the quarter.
“We are now one of the Nordic region’s biggest pay-TV companies, something that gives our terrestrial platforms a stronger position in our markets, says Crister Fritzson, president and CEO of Teracom Group.
Finnish PlusTV has continued to increase the number of customers, standing at 250,000, while Boxer Sweden’s customer base has been relatively stable at 613,000 subscribers. In Sweden, the expansion of the HDTV network continues, while HDTV was launched in Denmark in April, after the end of the reporting period.
