Good old analogue teletext is doing well with viewers in Austria. Public broadcaster ORF said it now reaches 2.22 million viewers a week.
Every day, an average of 963,000 people tune in to the text service, which translates into a reach of 13.5% – compared with 13.4% in 2010.
Every week, around 2,22 million people watch the service at least once, according to research of the broadcaster. This represents a reach of 31.0%. This compares with 2.14 million users during 2010 or 30.1%.
ORF also claims to be the best watched of all Teletext services in the country with a market share of 71.7%. Most popular pages are sports, news, politics and TV information.
The special ORF Teletext website also continues to be popular with 250,000 unique users and a total of 1.29 million visits per month.
