Start, the YouTube video games channel from IGN Entertainment and Shine Group, has launched with a mix of live and long-form programming.
IGN Entertainment, owned by News Corp, is collaborating with Shine Group on the channel. IGN will produce new content created exclusively for YouTube, including both live and pre-recorded broadcasts.
START will be managed by IGN and will feature programming from Shine Group company Reveille, producers of The Office, MasterChef and The Biggest Loser.
Five programmes are part of the launch, and shows confirmed for the future include live coverage from the IGN Pro League competitive gaming event and season 5 of HD Films’ 3D series The Jace Hall Show, along with additional content produced by Reveille.
“We’re excited to have the opportunity to partner with YouTube on their new channel initiative,” said Bernard Ho, IGN’s VP of video. “We look forward to working with Shine to take gaming content to the next level.”
Start will feature all-new and exclusive content not found on IGN.com or IGN’s current YouTube channels. IGN’s existing YouTube channels will continue to provide video content including reviews, previews, trailers and more.
