Ad spend on non-terrestrial TV channels in Russia is likely to triple in the next six years, according to J’son & Partners.
Quoted in AKTR and TelecomDaily, the agency adds that n the non-terrestrial TV market is currently being fuelled by growth in the pay-TV and broadband internet sectors.
However, the amount spent on advertising is still relatively small. The total number of TV channels available in Russia grew from 271 to 320 between August 2010 and August 2011.
Tricolor TV, the country’s leading DTH platform, notes that there is still a lack of locally produced content on TV channels, with over 50% sourced from overseas.
