Turkish ex-pats wanting to keep in touch with home will be able to do so through a new internet-delivered service from Digiturk.
The Turkish satellite provider will use technology from STB manufacturer AirTies to deliver the new DigiturkWebTV both live and for 12 hours after the original transmission.
“This will be one of the first installations of the new OTT STBs and it’s particularly satisfying knowing that Turkish households will be one of the first to enjoy the very latest advantages of the connected home of the future.”
AirTies’ HD IP set-top box will enable subscribers to watch the top Turkish broadcast channels including football network LigTV using adaptive bit rate technology.
The Air 7120 set-top uses the Microsoft PlayReady DRM. There are also plans to support social media sites Facebook and Twitter in a future software update.
