The Romanian incumbent telco Romtelecom has increased the capital in its cable operation NextGen Communications by €2 million.
Quoting the Official Gazette (Monitorul Oficial), ZF says that the amount was approved last October.
Romtelecom, which is backed by Greece’s OTE and ultimately Deutsche Telekom, has a strong presence in the Romanian DTH market through its Dolce, which was further strengthened by the acquisition of two further platforms (AKTA Satelit and Boom TV) early last year.
It also operates an IPTV service and NextGen Communications, which has been growing chiefly through acquisitions.
Romtelecom most recently increased the capital in NextGen Communications by €1.24 million last September.
