56.3% of Ziggo’s customer base is now buying broadband access from the operator, while 44.9% take telephony and 43.2% are All-in-1 bundle subscribers.
Presenting the full year results for 2011, Holland’s largest cable operator said that 71.5% of its customers now buy digital television following the net addition of 348,000 homes during the past year.
In 2011, the number of homes passed grew 1.5%, from 4,141,00 on December 31, 2010 to 4,202,00 on December 31, 2011. The total number of TV homes dropped 2.6% from 3,087,000 to 3,008,000.
With regards to TV homes, the number of analogue-only households is continuing to shrink, from 1,283,000 to 856,000, a fall of 33.3%. The number of digital homes grew from 1,804,000 to 2,152,000 (up 19.3%).
The number of digital TV subscribers who buy additional packages or premium channels grew from 897,000 to 940,000 (up 4.7%).
The total number of internet subscribers stood at 1,692,000 on December 31, 2011 and that of telephony homes at 1,352,000.
In a statement, Ziggo CEO Bernard Dijkhuizen said: “We have continued a strong performance in the last quarter of the year, consistent with the trends we saw throughout 2011, which produced a successful year for Ziggo. Our strategy of focusing on high quality bundled services has resulted in further growth in RGUs in both the consumer and B2B segments, driving higher revenue. Our investments in the infrastructure and customer satisfaction are driving this growth and we will continue to invest in new attractive propositions for our customers to maintain this momentum in 2012.”
