BBC World News has signed an extension to its contract with the French IPTV operator SFR. The news and information channel is now available right across SFR’s satellite, DSL and fibre offers.
Formerly included in the package le Bouquet Sélection, BBC World News became available last month on SFR’s neufbox and neufbox Evolution offers on ADSL and fibre.
Colin Lawrence, commercial director, BBC World News commented: “This is a major step forward for BBC World News, making us available to an even bigger French audience. We will aim to bring viewers the best of BBC journalism, providing trusted information and in-depth global analysis. This is such an important year for international news, with pivotal stories such as the global economic crisis, US and French elections and the Arab Uprising and BBC World News will bring SFR subscribers to the heart of these critical international stories.”
The new deals give BBC World News 24/7 distribution to over 16 million homes across France.
