The Polish DTH platform Cyfrowy Polsat will not develop a joint offer with the telco Polkomtel, according to Zygmunt Solorz-Zak, Polsat founder owner of both companies.
However, quoted in Wirtualne Media, he also revealed that the telco, which operates the mobile network Plus, has been approached by Vodafone with the offer of cooperation.
Solorz-Zak is presiding over a period of restructuring at Polkomtel, which he took over last year in a deal worth over PLN18 billion (€4.18 billion).
He added that the focus is now on the development of paid content and that Polkomtel’s infrastructure will be used to distribute Polsat channels on such devices as smartphones and tablets.
Separately, it has been reported the Solorz-Zak has transferred 48.5% of the shares in Cyfrowy Polsat from the Malta-registered company Delas Holdings to Pola Investments, which is based in Cyprus.
