Sweden has its very own 24-hour news channel following the launch of TV4 News.
The commercial channel is planning a round the clock service that will offer Swedish TV viewers a comprehensive news service with global, national and local coverage of news, sport, weather, business and entertainment. Many of the presenters will be familiar to Swedish viewers through TV4 and Nyhetsbolaget.
A deal has also been struck with BBC World News, which will provide a broader international outlook and analysis.
At launch agreements with Canal Digital and Com Hem means TV4 News will be available to around half of Swedish TV households.
In addition to its inclusion in Com Hem’s XL package, and as an option in Medium 8 Favoriter, TV4 News will also be a major part of Tv Com Hem, a new channel that will feature topics of interest to subscribers, including entertainment, television and technology.
