Visiware, the French developer of interactive games for TV platforms has raised €5 million from Crédit Agricole Private Equity and Entrepreneur Venture to develop its social TV offering.
Renaud Poulard, a partner in Crédit Agricole Private Equity and administrator with Visiware, said: “The convergence of TV and the Web, social TV, are basic trends. Visiware management seized these opportunities very early and today it is a leader in the sector.”
The ten-year old company recently launched its PlayAlong product that allows viewers to participate with a live broadcast through their laptop, tablet or smartphone. PlayAlong has been picked up by broadcasters including Antena 3, Fox, SBT, SBS6, TF1 and ZDF, resulting in 12 million games played across nine different countries.
