Content from Orange’s smart portal is to be included on Thomson-branded TV sets, both in France and across Europe.
It follows an agreement with TCL, the Chinese LCD TV manufacturer, which has licensed the Thomson marque from Technicolor.
According to Xavier Perret, Orange’s director of strategic partnerships, “With this partnership, Orange joins a key player in China in a long-term relationship in which we’ll work together on new generations of TVs that will offer a sampling of Orange’s content and services.”
France will be first to have the portal included on all new TCL and Thomson smart TVs in the first quarter of 2012. Other European countries will follow later in the year.
Included on the portal are Orange Sport Info, Live radio, an enhanced programming guide, trailers of the week’s movie releases, and free content from Orange’s cinema series channels.
