The Swiss town of Kreuzlingen and the remaining private shareholders of local cable operator Stadtantenne Kreuzlingen AG have decided to sell out to their fellow shareholder UPC cablecom.
As Stadtantenne Kreuzlingen AG has been a partner of UPC cablecom since 1989, customers will be unaffected by the takeover. The networks serves the areas of Bottighofen and Kreuzlingen to Steckborn. The two parties did not disclose the financial terms of the deal.
In the future Stadtantenne Kreuzlingen AG will also be able to offer its customers UPC’s VOD services and additional digital TV channels. The net will continue to trade under the same name in the future.
Over the past months, Switzerland’s largest cable network operator has intensified its efforts to take over local cable network operators. In a press release, the operator said: “The current transaction is another important step on the way to market consolidation and strengthening upc cablecom’s position as a national provider in a dynamic fast-moving market environment.”
