RCS&RDS adopts new protocol

The leading Romanian cable and DTH operator RCS&RDS has become the first company in the country to implement IPv6 for internet access.

Residential fibre-optic subscribers can now test the protocol in 19 cities throughout the country including the capital, Bucharest.

IPv6 allows a wide variety of devices, including connected TVs, tablets, smartphones and home theatre PCs to be connected to the internet.

RCS&RDS is now the first company in not only Romania but Balkans region to use both IPv4 and IPv6 protocols.
